A Claude Code skill that pulls hook formats, scroll-stop word tags, and a full transcript from any reel you share. In daily scan mode it searches your niche every morning and surfaces the 5 best performers from the last 24 hours. Install takes under 5 minutes.
The Problem With How Content Research Works Right Now
You scroll. You save a reel. You open the saved folder three weeks later and have forgotten why you saved it.
That folder is not a research system. It is a graveyard.
The real problem is that watching a reel and analyzing a reel are different tasks. You cannot do both at the same time. Your brain catches the vibe. It misses the structure.
Scroll-stop words, hook formats, content arc — these only become visible when you slow the reel down and read it line by line. Nobody does that manually on every piece of content they find interesting.
This skill separates the two tasks. You share the reel while scrolling. The skill reads it, tags it, and returns a brief. You spend two minutes with the brief and understand exactly what pattern worked and why. Then you start your own content from that, not from a blank page.
Copy This: The Two Commands That Run the Skill
Analyze a reel:
Copy this.
Use the social media research skill. Here's a reel I want analyzed: [PASTE URL OR TRANSCRIPT HERE]
Run the daily niche scan:
Copy this.
Run the social media research skill in daily scan mode. My niche is [YOUR NICHE]. My platform is [INSTAGRAM / TIKTOK / YOUTUBE].
That is the complete interface. Give it a URL or paste the transcript directly. The skill handles the rest.
How to Install It in 3 Steps
If you use Claude Code (the terminal app):
- Download the skill folder from the link below. It arrives as a zip.
- Unzip it. Move the folder to
~/.claude/skills/social-media-research/on your machine. If theskills/folder does not exist yet, create it. - Open Claude Code and paste the analyze command above.
Done. The skill is installed.
If you use Claude on the web or desktop app:
- Download the folder. Keep it as a zip.
- In Claude, go to Settings, then Capabilities, and upload the zip as a skill.
- Start a new chat. Paste the analyze command.
No configuration beyond your niche name and your platform. The skill tells you exactly what it needs the first time it needs it.
What You Get Back
01. Opening line verbatim. The exact first sentence of the reel, labeled with its hook type. Now you know the specific pattern you are looking at, not a vague impression.
02. Hook format label. One of six structures: news intro, curiosity gap, bold claim, stat, question, story-lead. Labeling it makes it replicable. Once you know the pattern, you can deploy it deliberately.
03. Scroll-stop word list. Every phrase in the transcript that signals an emotional trigger, a pattern interrupt, or urgency. Each tag comes with a one-line reason. Not "this is energetic." Something like: "secretly building implies insider access and creates exclusion pressure."
04. Content brief. The promise the hook made, the arc the video followed, and a verdict on whether it kept the promise. This is the part most creators miss. Reels earn views because the hook and the payoff match. When they don't, comments say so. The brief shows you which kind you found.
05. Daily niche scan results. Five top performers from the last 24 hours in your niche. Each one returns: hook text, format label, and engagement signal. You see what is winning right now, not what went viral six months ago.
06. Rewrite in your voice (optional). Tell the skill to rewrite the top hook in your tone. It takes the winning structure and swaps in your examples, your words, your audience. You start from something already proven. Not from a blank page.
When This Does Not Work
URL not loading. Paste the transcript directly. The skill works entirely from text. The URL step is a convenience, not a requirement. Transcripts are often cleaner source material anyway.
Niche scan returning old or off-topic results. Narrow the niche term and add "last 24 hours" explicitly to your prompt. "AI tools" is too wide. "AI automation for service businesses" is the right level. Broad niche terms return broad noise.
Analysis feels generic. You are probably using the social media caption, not the actual opening line of the reel. They are usually different. The caption is written for the algorithm. The opening line is what made someone stop scrolling. Paste the opening line.
One Action Before Tomorrow
Pick one reel you saved this week. Open Claude Code with this skill installed. Share the URL.
Read the hook breakdown you get back.
You will see something you missed while watching it. That is the skill doing its job. Research is not something you do by feeling. It is something a system does consistently, every morning, whether you are scrolling or not.
The skill folder is below. Everything you need to install and run it is inside.
