Most prospecting lists are cold by definition. You are contacting companies with no visible reason to spend right now.
Hiring signals are different. A company actively recruiting product managers, product designers, and heads of product is already in a spending cycle. They approved the headcount. They are moving. They are a live buyer for analytics tools, design software, user research services, and outside operations help.
This skill reads that signal. It connects Claude to Lusha MCP, runs one prompt, and returns the full decision-maker list with verified emails and LinkedIn profiles. One run. No cold list required.
What Is a Hiring Signal?
A hiring signal is a data point that shows a company is already spending, not one you hope will spend.
When a company posts for product managers or VPs of Product, it means several things at once:
- They have budget approved for new headcount
- Their product operation is actively growing
- They need tools, services, and support that product teams use
- A decision maker signed off on the growth plan
That last point is the one that matters for outreach. The person who approved the hiring is the same person who approves the tools. You are not cold-calling a company with no signal. You are reaching the decision maker at a company already in motion.
The Problem with Cold Lists
Buying a lead list and filtering by industry and company size is a starting point, not a strategy. Industry and size tell you what a company is. They do not tell you whether it is in a position to buy right now.
A 200-person SaaS company that froze all spending two quarters ago looks identical to a 200-person SaaS company that just expanded its product team. On a cold list, they are the same row.
The hiring signal separates them.
The Prompt: Copy This
Open Claude and connect Lusha MCP. Then run:
Copy this.
Find US companies with 51 to 500 employees showing a recent surge in product hiring. Give me the Chief Product Officers and VPs of Product with verified emails.
In seconds, you get:
- A list of companies matching the filter
- Decision-maker names by title
- Verified work email addresses
- LinkedIn profile links
The current filter returns over 3,300 US companies at any given time. That number fluctuates with the market, but the signal stays live.
How to Use It
Step 1. Open Claude at claude.ai. Go to the tools or integrations panel and connect Lusha MCP. Authorize it when prompted.
Step 2. Paste the prompt above. You can narrow the filter further. Add a specific industry, city, or revenue tier if you have a defined ICP. The core logic stays the same.
Step 3. Review the output. The list comes back with names, titles, verified emails, and LinkedIn. Export or copy it into your outreach tool.
Step 4. Build the outreach around the signal. The first line of your email already writes itself: the company is growing its product team. You are offering something product teams use.
Done.
What You Get Back
- Over 3,300 US company matches in the 51 to 500 employee range showing product-hiring momentum
- Decision-maker names at CPO and VP of Product level
- Verified work email addresses
- LinkedIn profile URLs for each contact
- A live, repeatable filter you can run again next week as the hiring market shifts
Adjusting the Filter
The prompt above is the baseline. Narrow it based on your offer:
- Add a city or metro area if you serve local clients
- Add a revenue range if Lusha supports it
- Swap "product hiring" for a different function if your offer targets engineering or marketing decision makers
- Combine with a second filter like "companies that recently raised Series A or B" to stack buying signals
The logic stays the same: find the signal that indicates the decision-maker already has budget moving, then reach them first.
Honest: What Lusha Does Not Guarantee
Lusha verifies email addresses at the time of the data pull. Some addresses go stale when employees change roles. Expect a small bounce rate on any list.
The hiring signal filter also returns companies actively posting, not companies that have already filled the roles. Run the filter weekly to catch new entries. A company that just opened a product role this week is a better prospect than one that posted six months ago.
The filter is a qualifier, not a close. What you do with the list still matters.
One Action This Week
Connect Lusha MCP to Claude. Run the prompt. Look at the first ten companies on the list.
Pick one where you can name a specific way your service fits what a growing product team needs. Write a single sentence about that fit. Send it.
That is a more qualified cold email than any bought list would give you.
The full skill package is linked at the bottom of this page. It includes the Lusha MCP connection steps, prompt variants for different ICP filters, and a CSV export template for moving the output directly into your outreach tool.
