Steal This Skill: Your Website Becomes a Motion Video in 3 Steps
Claude Code with Opus 5.5 can take your website, a document, or a set of photos and return a finished motion design video.
No editor. No back-and-forth with an agency. You pick the ratio. The skill handles the rest.
Three steps.
The Problem: One Video Costs a Week
Product demos. Service explainers. Offer videos.
Each one goes to a freelancer or agency, comes back with revisions, takes a week, and gets used once. Most businesses make a single marketing video and call it done because the production cost makes iteration impossible.
Every offer you sell deserves a video. That's the standard you can now afford to meet.
With Opus 5.5 inside Claude Code, the pipeline compresses from a week to minutes. The skill reads your source material, decides what to show, builds the animation, and renders the output in the format you specified.
I ran it myself and the quality surprised me. That's the reason it's here.
The 3 Steps
Step 1: Collect your source material.
What do you want the video to be about? It could be:
- Your website (paste the URL)
- A document describing your offer (upload it or paste the text)
- A folder of product or brand photos
More specific source material produces a better video. A landing page with a clear headline, three bullet points, and brand colors gives the skill a clear direction. A homepage with 12 sections in four fonts gives it noise.
Start with one offer. One page. One clear message.
Step 2: Pick your prompt.
Two options. Use the copy block below, or use the /brag skill from the Claude Code skills repository, which includes a pre-built Remotion scaffold so you skip the setup step.
Either way produces the same result. The copy block below is the clean version with no external dependencies.
Step 3: Tell it your ratio.
Square (1:1) for Instagram and LinkedIn posts. Portrait (9:16) for Reels and Stories. Landscape (16:9) for YouTube and embed videos. That's the only decision left.

You are a motion design director for [YOUR BUSINESS NAME]. Your job: take the content I give you and produce a finished motion design video. Source material: [PASTE YOUR URL / DOCUMENT TEXT / IMAGE DESCRIPTIONS] Instructions: 1. Extract the core message, offer, and visual identity from the source material. 2. Write a motion design script. For each scene: what appears on screen, any text overlay (max 6 words per overlay), and duration in seconds. Target total: 30 to 60 seconds. 3. Write the animation spec for each scene: entry animation, motion style (slide in, fade, scale up), and transition to next scene. 4. Render the full output as a Remotion component ready to run. 5. Target ratio: [SQUARE 1:1 / PORTRAIT 9:16 / LANDSCAPE 16:9] Quality rules: - Every scene carries the brand's visual identity. Use colors and fonts from the source material if visible. - Text overlays are short. Motion carries the message. - No placeholder images. Use CSS shapes, gradients, and motion. - Output must be immediately runnable with: npx remotion render
How to Use It
Open a Claude Code session. Paste this prompt. Attach or paste your source material. Specify the ratio. Run it.
If Remotion isn't installed on your machine, the first run includes the install step. That takes 5 minutes once and then it's done for every future video.
What You Get Back
- A scene-by-scene motion script for your offer.
- An animation spec with entry animations and transitions per scene.
- A full Remotion component ready to render on your machine.
- A finished video file in the ratio you specified.
- A reusable template: swap the source material and run again for the next offer, the next product, the next client.
Honest Limits
The skill reads what you give it. A sparse input produces sparse output. Your landing page is the brief. If it's weak, the video is weak.
Also: the Remotion render runs on your machine. For a 60-second animation with multiple scenes, expect the render to take 2 to 5 minutes depending on your hardware.
The motion output is a starting point, not a locked deliverable. Render it, watch it once, then come back with one specific thing to change. That feedback loop is faster than any agency revision cycle.
Make the first one for your main offer. Pick a ratio that matches where you'll post it. Run it before the end of the week.
Done.
